Resolute Management, Inc. is a Third Party Administrator hired by clients to handle complex environmental, asbestos, and/or latent type claims. 

This position involves extensive interaction with claims professionals, top company management, affiliated companies' management, and outside counsel.  Also, the position provides the opportunity to handle litigation and arbitrations as counsel of record. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Provide legal counsel to Resolute Management and its clients in insurance and reinsurance matters, generally related to environmental contamination, asbestos, other toxic torts and sexual abuse claims, as well as in company/loss portfolio acquisitions.   

•Work with the in-house Reinsurance Group in the initiation, handling and ultimate disposition of reinsurance matters in the U.S. and elsewhere, both for reinsureds and reinsurers.   

•Work with the in-house Direct Claims Group in the formulation of strategy, exposure/risk analysis, handling and disposition of trial- and appellate level direct coverage and inter-insurer litigation nationwide and elsewhere.

•Retain and manage outside counsel in lawsuits and arbitrations, as well as working with them as co-counsel or, in appropriate matters, acting as sole counsel. 

•Work with Resolute Management’s clients on a daily basis providing legal counsel and strategies respecting direct insurance and reinsurance matters.

•Assist in managing the operation's very large annual litigation budget.

Position Qualifications/Experience  

•Ideally, candidates should have a minimum of 4-6 years experience in liability insurance coverage analysis, and all aspects of commercial general, umbrella and excess liability policies.

•Candidates must demonstrate significant experience in analyzing coverage issues related to asbestos, toxic tort and hazardous waste litigation and indemnity issues.

•Experience with reinsurance issues very helpful.

•Candidates should possess solid academic credentials and litigation related experience.
