Advance your career with this free educational benefit

Effective September 1, 2014, the Massachusetts Bar Association offers free educational programs to MBA members, excluding conferences and the Practicing with Professionalism course. Now MBA members can stay on top of the law, advance their careers and enhance their practices -- all at no extra cost.

Taking advantage of free CLE is easy. Course offerings take place at venues throughout the state, and many can be accessed remotely through MBA On Demand. This free member benefit applies both to in-person and On Demand CLE programs. Members also receive free access to the entire recorded On Demand library. We are in the process of building the catalog of programs for the 2014-15 year. Check the website regularly -- new courses are added all the time.

The MBA's educational programs cater to new, experienced and transitioning attorneys across a wide range of practices. Each year, the MBA offers courses covering recent case law, new legislation, emerging legal trends, new rules of practice and procedure, and issues of law practice management that will benefit attorneys and their practice. Courses are taught by some of the most experienced attorneys in the commonwealth, and most programs include written materials and qualify for three hours of CLE credit.

Not a member? Most MBA CLE courses are also available to nonmembers at a reasonable cost, so practitioners outside the MBA can still learn from some of the top attorneys in Massachusetts. Or why not join the MBA today and take advantage of free CLE and all the other great MBA member benefits.

NOTE: Massachusetts is one of the few non-mandatory CLE states. There is no continuing legal education requirement for attorneys in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Bar Association is an accredited sponsor of CLE in New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont and New York. If you need CLE credit in another state for your attendance at an MBA CLE program, we can provide you with a certificate of attendance for filing in that jurisdiction. Forms certifying attendance are made available on the day of the program.

For more information or questions, please contact Senior Programs Manager Marc A. D'Antonio, Esq. at [email mdantonio].

The MBA only offers Certificates of Attendance to individuals who attend education programs in person. Certificates are not available for participation in recorded On Demand and Real-time Webcasts.
