Assisted Reproductive Technology: Current Trends, Practice and Procedure

This program will examine the law of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) from both an academic and pragmatic perspective. Panel members will discuss the relevant statutory as well as case law and how it is relentlessly outpaced by the rapidly advancing field of reproductive technology. The program will also focus on the ramifications of the evolving law for the practitioner representing clients in both a transactional and litigation context. Topics include:

  • A survey of the Massachusetts case law concerning ART;
  • What you need to know about gestational carrier and donor agreements;
  • The necessary elements of a successful equity complaint to establish legal parentage and pre-birth orders;
  • Special considerations for married and unmarried same-sex couples; and
  • Unique issues in interstate and international arrangements.

The prevalence of assisted reproductive technology means that a broad array of practitioners, from solo to big-firm lawyer, will come across clients seeking legal advice regarding this topic. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from our experts.
