The New Massachusetts Uniform Trust Code

The Massachusetts Uniform Trust Code (MUTC) has been enacted and applies to all trust instruments. This program provides an in-depth examination of the MUTC. Objectives include:

  • Providing a basic understanding of the differences between the MUTC and the common law;
  • Introducing new definitions and concepts;
  • Providing an overview of trust management and administration with a focus on new developments; and
  • Providing an overview of new trust remedies, including non-judicial settlement agreements and new judicial remedies.
