Rethinking conditions of release: Are we punishing normative
behavior?
Join Juvenile & Child Welfare Section Council Vice Chair Marlies
Spanjaard for a series of live legal chats covering the issues impacting the
practice of juvenile and child welfare law.
This legal chat will discuss whether pre-trial release conditions may
actually increase recidivism in low risk youth and have a net-widening effect.
Pre-trial release conditions that are routinely imposed throughout the
commonwealth will be examined through the JDAI (Juvenile Detention Alternative
Initiative) lens. The efficacy of detaining youth for violations of pretrial
release conditions will be questioned.
Take advantage of one of our most
popular MBA On Demand programming formats. Legal chats are free 60-minute
real-time interactive Webcasts you can watch, and participate in, from the
comfort of your home or office.
