The General Practice, Solo
& Small Firm Section is sponsoring a three-part series of statewide outreach
programs to attorneys interested in learning about Limited Assistance
Representation (LAR) - representing a client for just one segment of a case
instead of participating from beginning to end. Judges and private practitioners
will join to educate the bar on LAR.
Catherine P. Sabaitis and Attorney Barbara Nason
will discuss the following issues: how LAR can benefit attorneys,
clients and the courts, how to qualify for LAR, what forms are needed, and how
to transition from regular representation to LAR or extend representation beyond
the scope of the LAR fee agreement. Attorney Brigid Mitchell,
Law Office of Denise Squillante, will moderate.
The final program
will be held at the MBA Centennial Conference on May 18, 2011 from 3:30-4:15
p.m. The panel will include Hon.
Edward M. Ginsburg and Attorney Linda Sternberg.
