Know your pitch

Every interaction is the seed to a thousand opportunities. So know your pitch! Develop a personal message about your legal practice that you have ready to roll at a networking event, conference, the subway or any place you meet someone new. Make this part of your story, or you risk forgoing a potential future client, alliance, referral or simply the opportunity to imprint on another's memory.

Your pitch is your opportunity to make a first and lasting impression. Devise a 30-second value proposition that is clear, credible and compelling. Provide the listener with one great example of how your service could benefit them, and ask for permission to stay in touch.
