Note from Taxation Law Leadership
The Massachusetts Bar Association's Taxation Law Section and
Young Lawyers Division are presenting a series of continuing legal
education programs in May and June. "Tax for the General
Practitioner" is an affordable series providing a solid tax
foundation for general practitioners, and others, who would like to
learn more about the tax aspects of various transactions. The
series is also a rare opportunity for law students to learn
practical application of tax theory.
Topics addressed in the series include estate planning; basis;
nonprofit organizations; tax issues related to divorce, litigation
proceeds, business entities and real estate; as well as reviewing
tax returns to spot issues. All roundtables will be held at the
MBA, 20 West St., Boston, and will be offered as real-time
Webcasts. Attendance fees for each roundtable are $15 for
sponsoring section members, law students and newly-admitted
lawyers; $25 for MBA members who are not sponsoring section members
and $50 for nonmembers.
