In this session, our panelists will discuss the nuts and bolts of the taxation of estates, probate litigation basics and how to wrap up the estate. Specific topics will include: collecting the information necessary to decide whether the estate is subject to estate or income tax; placing a value on the estate; obtaining the release of the estate tax lien; preparing estate tax returns; fiduciary income tax issues; preparing first and final accounts; making distributions to beneficiaries, obtaining judgments; and more.
