Massachusetts Bar Association President David W. White Jr. addressed a crowd of nearly 300 business leaders at the Go Green Workshop held June 24 at the UMass Boston Campus & Conference Center.
White delivered the keynote address at the second annual daylong workshop of classes and exhibits. White focused his talk on how all industries can utilize the Green Guidelines developed as part of the MBA Lawyers Eco-Challenge, an initiative in partnership with the Conservation Law Foundation. The Green Guidelines were released in January along with a pledge lawyers must abide by to join the Eco-Challenge. The pledge and guidelines were drafted by the MBA Energy and Environment Task Force.
Also participating in the workshop was MBA Law Practice Management Section Chair Alan J. Klevan, a Pledge Partner of the MBA Lawyers Eco-Challenge. Klevan led a half-hour tutorial on creating a paperless office with the help of Boston attorney Jeffrey Glassman, a member of the task force.
The workshop was sponsored by the Massachusetts Recycling Coalition, the Massachusetts Operational Services Division, UMass-Boston’s Recycling and Sustainability Program and the MBA.
