MBA to train attorneys on legal issues facing veterans

Advocate for veterans who are experiencing benefits-related problems

Interested in assisting veterans with their benefit appeals to the Veterans Administration? If so, the MBA invites you to attend training sessions* on Monday, July 21, and Tuesday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the MBA, 20 West St., Boston.

NOTE: The total training program is six hours in length and has been broken into two shorter sessions. Both sessions are required to complete the training.
 
At the training, the MBA will show the Veterans Benefits Advocacy DVD: a film produced by LexisNexis that provides an overview and training on veterans benefits by Ronald B. Abrams, Esq. and Barton F. Stichman, Esq., co-directors of the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP).
 
Attorneys who attend will receive a complimentary copy of the training notes for Veterans Benefits Advocacy DVD. Attorneys who agree to take a veterans benefits appeal pro bono case, referred through the MBA, will receive free copies of the 2007 Veterans Benefits Manual and the 2007 Federal Veterans Laws, Rules and Regulations.
