Law Practice Management Tip of the Week
Web Address: Optimizing Your Online Presence
If you're tired of paying beaucoup bucks to have someone else
create and maintain your Web site, then reconsider what your online
presence means. Rather than gunning for the top-shelf Web site,
featuring all the information, pages (and expense) you can cram,
try an alternate course. Instead of optimizing your Web site,
optimize your online presence across Web sites. The purpose of your
firm Web site is two-fold: to give you an online profile and to get
you noticed through the search engine rankings. Yet, both these
objects can be achieved through the use of a well-constructed,
simple placeholder website that acts as your online business card,
coupled with the use of social media marketing.
Blogs and blogging, Twitter and tweeting, the use of LinkedIn and Facebook for
the creation of alternate, additional firm pages, video posting
claiming your profile on Avvo . . . the use of all of these available
resources (and other available resources) can create for you an
online presence across several platforms, increase your visibility
on search services, help (you) to target your marketing, give you
access to a thriving online community of attorneys and give you
some incentive to update and add content consistently, to keep
yourself top of mind.
The best part: all of these Web resources referenced above are free
