MBA and MACDL issue joint letter regarding "access to counsel" in the independent investigation of the Probation Department
Earlier this week, MBA President Valerie A. Yarashus and
Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers President
John H. Cuhna Jr. sent a letter to Supreme Judicial Court Chief
Justice Margaret H. Marshall asking her to "issue appropriate
orders to clarify and rectify this problem," upon learning
attorneys were instructed to stay out of hearing rooms while
clients provided testimony in an independent investigation of the
Probation Department.
