New issue of Lawyers Journal available
The October issue of Lawyers Journal has been mailed
and is available online now. It features a profile of Appeals Court
Judge James F. McHugh, the first Massachusetts judge to receive the
William H. Rehnquist Award for Judicial Excellence. He steered the
implementation of the MassCourts computer system and led the SJC's
Committee on Judicial Ethics for a decade.
The issue also includes:
- The launch of an MBA task force to study the effectiveness of
law schools;
- Coverage of MBA President Richard P. Campbell's inaugural
reception, where he stressed the need to protect the rule of law
through adequate court funding;
- Details about SJC Chief Justice Roderick L. Ireland's first
address to the legal community at the Oct. 13 Bench-Bar Symposium;
and
- Information about the Oct. 28-29 Family Law Conference, which
will address the new alimony reform law, among other topics.

The MBA is seeking contributed articles for its December issue of
Lawyers Journal on specialty topics of law and
business-to-business services for the legal profession.

Lawyers Journal, produced in conjunction with The Warren
Group, helps Massachusetts attorneys manage their practices, grow
their firms and tap into valuable resources. The monthly paper has
25,000 readers and a circulation of more than 13,000, representing
more than 7,200 offices.
Articles should be 800 to 1,000 words and are due Nov. 14.
