"One of the most important responsibilities of all lawyers and
judges is to protect and promote the integrity and respectability
of the legal profession." These are the opening words of the
preamble to the Massachusetts Bar Association's new Civility and
Professionalism Guidelines, which have become the focus of a series
of statewide forums aimed at reaffirming the bar's commitment to
these important principles.

Catalano addresses what the MBA is doing to ensure that the civil
rights of fellow attorneys and the citizens of Massachusetts are

annual State of the Judiciary Address on Oct. 20, presented by the
Massachusetts Bar Association, where they heard speeches from MBA
President Jeffrey N. Catalano, Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice
Ralph D. Gants, Trial Court Chief Justice Paula M. Carey and Trial
Court Administrator Lewis H. "Harry" Spence.
The MBA's Leadership Academy hosted its first "Profiles in
Leadership" training session for 21 fellows selected for 2016-17 on
Oct. 25 in Boston.
