This program will consist of two panels: one discussing best practices in the
commonwealth's dedicated Veterans’ Treatment Courts, and the other discussing
how to best serve our servicemembers before the general criminal courts.
Suitable for both prosecutors and defense attorneys, the
program will discuss:
- The unique challenges that persons with military
history face in the criminal courts
- How to best utilize services in your case
Special attention will be devoted to the BRAVE Act (An Act Relative to
Veterans Benefits, Rights, Appreciation, Validation and Enforcement),
specifically the recent changes to diversion.
This program qualifies
for three hours of CPCS CLE credits for the adult criminal trial
panel.
