This program will focus on the federal and state tax
aspects of (i) personal injury (including emotional distress), business
(interference with contractual relations), and employment damage awards
(including lost wages and discrimination); and (ii) settlement agreements with
respect to claims for damages described in the first section.
The program will include not only a technical analysis of the applicable tax
rules, but also the litigator's, employment lawyer's and negotiator's
perspective of the impact of these rules on settlement talks.
