A Practice Guide for Labor and Employment Lawyers

Join us for the third program in a monthly brown bag/roundtable series addressing the new reality of online dispute resolution. The panel, composed of an experienced dispute resolution professional and experienced attorneys, will discuss the pros and cons of online dispute resolution in labor and employment matters. Labor and employment disputes can benefit enormously from mediation or arbitration. Dispute resolution options are especially important during the pandemic, allowing parties to resolve their issues in a timely manner when courthouses may be closed.

The panel will discuss:

  • Virtual mediation and arbitration: Has what started as a necessary workaround become a desirable alternative?
  • The role of ADR in addressing COVID-related employment issues -- compensation questions, reasonable accommodations in on-premises and remote workplaces, and vaccination policies.
  • Be careful what you wish for -- the realities of mandatory arbitration, with and without class-action waivers.

This session was hosted using Zoom.
