The delivery of legal services has evolved significantly. Consumers and businesses have more options today than ever before, and they aren't all from lawyers.

Some legal services that were once tailored to the individual client have evolved into more commoditized products. Lawyers, as a profession, have generally been slower to adopt technology that would help them do the legal work more quickly.

Today, innovative ideas are making their way into the industry on various fronts, from independent paralegal statutes to nonlawyer law firm ownership, to hundreds of legal tech companies seeking to serve lawyers, litigants and courts.
