Please join the Massachusetts Bar Association for a second webinar with leaders of the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission, joined by Massachusetts Police Training Committee (MPTC).This interactive webinar will focus on the POST Commission and MPTC’s efforts developing and implementing police standards, practices and training for school resource officers (SROs); promoting officer wellness; and improving police response to individuals in mental health crisis and with mental health-related concerns.

The POST Commission’s mission is to “improve policing and enhance public confidence in law enforcement” by developing and implementing standards and a “fair process” for officer “certification, discipline, and training” for policing in Massachusetts.

The MPTC is statutorily responsible to “develop, deliver, and enforce” recruit and in-service training and training standards for police in Massachusetts.

This webinar is a special opportunity to hear from and ask questions of POST commissioners and MPTC leaders about their efforts and progress in meeting their statutory mandates for SROs, officer wellness, and policing of individuals with mental health-related concerns.

The webinar was hosted using Zoom.
