 Energy Law Practice Group Meeting

The Energy Law Practice Group is a new practice group under the Business Law Section.  All MBA members who are interested in all aspects of energy law are invited to attend this first meeting of the practice group.  The guest speakers will be Mark C. Kalpin, Co-chair of the Energy and Cleantech Group at WilmerHale and Daniel J. Poydenis, NuGen capital Management who will discuss the state of renewable energy development in Massachusetts, and address the relevant laws, regulations, and policies that have contributed to that development.

Attorney Kalpin is a partner in WilmerHale's Regulatory and Government Affairs Department, advising clients on all aspects of energy, environmental and natural resource projects including gas pipelines, LNG import and export terminals, oil and gas field development and operation, natural resource extraction projects and traditional and renewable energy generation facilities. Attorney Kalpin is the President Emeritas of the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association, the Co-Chairman of The New England Council's Energy and Environment Committee and a past chairman of the American Bar Association's Energy Facilities and Siting Committee.

Attorney Daniel Poydenis is the Managing Director & General Counsel at NuGen Capital Management, which specializes in the financing, development and operation of solar photovoltaic facilities throughout theUnited States.
