The MBA is again inviting members to participate in the #IWalkForJustice social media campaign ahead of the annual Walk to the Hill for Civil Legal Aid. (Pictured: some of last year's participants.)
The 17th Annual Walk to the Hill for Civil Legal
Aid will be held on Thursday, Jan. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.,
in the Great Hall of the State House.
You can help the MBA build enthusiasm around the budget campaign
and Walk to the Hill by participating in the Equal Justice
Coalition's #IWalkForJustice social media campaign.
Please write down why you walk to the hill and/or care about
civil legal aid, and then take your photo holding the sign and
share it on social media using the #IWalkForJustice hashtag.
The MBA supports the request from the Massachusetts Legal
Assistance Corporation (MLAC) for a $27 million appropriation for
civil legal aid in the fiscal year 2017 budget. Civil legal aid is
a lifeline for low-income individuals and families who are in legal
crisis. It helps vulnerable residents avoid homelessness, protects
the welfare of children, assists the elderly and others who need
access to health care, and helps survivors of domestic abuse find
safety and security.
