Join the Annual Walk to the Hill for Legal Aid, Feb. 28
Join MBA President David W. White Jr. and MBA members as we urge legislators to increase funding for civil legal aid.
Thursday, Feb. 28, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Great Hall, Statehouse, Boston
With more than 500 attorneys attending the rally in an effort to draw attention to the shortage of civil legal aid for low-income people, the last year's eighth annual Walk to the Hill for Legal Aid was the largest ever. Increased funding for legal services and access to justice for all of our citizens continues to be a priority of the MBA.
Due to a shortage of legal resources, civil legal aid programs are forced to turn away a majority of eligible callers who are seeking assistance in matters such as child support and custody, domestic violence, housing, employment and health care.
The annual event is co-sponsored by the MBA, the Boston Bar Association and the Equal Justice Coalition. For more information, call the Equal Justice Coalition at (617) 720-8444 x129.
