Calendar Subscription Instructions

iCalendar, also known as an .ics extension, is a widely used file format used to distribute calendar information between different scheduling applications. Massachusetts Bar Association distributes education programs and networking events in an iCal format for the convenience of its members and its compatibility with popular calendar applications.

Sign into Google Calendar. In the left-hand sidebar, under Other Calendars, click the down-arrow in the upper right corner.
Select Add By URL
Enter in the .ics feed link name of the Massbar session you are interested in. Subscription links are available at the top of the page.
Select Add to Calendar

Apple iCal

Open Calendar, located in Applications
Go to the File menu, and select New Calendar Subscription
Paste or type the Massbar URL into the Calendar URL field. Click Subscribe.
Change how the name or color of the event will display in the program (optional). The Massbar session .ica file entered as the Calendar URL on previous screen will now be populated in the Subscribed to field. Change Location to On My Mac and Auto-refresh to Every day to help ensure the latest information from Massbar is saved.
Click OK to save information

Microsoft Outlook 2013

Click Calendar in bottom-left corner of the window
Right-click on My Calendars in the left-hand column. Hover over Add Calendar, and select From Internet
Type or paste in the Massbar calendar section, located at the top of this page, then click OK
If a dialog window appears asking to add the session to your calendars, select Yes
Click OK to save your changes

Mozilla Lightning

Mozilla Lightning is a calendar app that pairs with Mozilla Thunderbird.

In Thunderbird, in the File menu, select New, then Calendar
Select On the Network, then click Next
Select the iCalendar(ICS) format, then type or paste the Massbar feed URL into the Location field.
Click Next
Change the Color, Name, or notfication option. Click Next and Finish to save changes.
