Managing Difficult Conversations

Being a practitioner in the field of dispute resolution (DR) can for many of us be a lonely profession. How often have you wanted to learn how your peers would have handled situations that have arisen during one of your mediations, conciliations, collaborative processes or arbitrations? Each of us has very differing styles. How can we improve our skills by learning from others? The Massachusetts Bar Association’s DR Section wants to help!

Hon. Mark D Mason and Karen Van Kooy will facilitate a conversation and share tips and lessons learned managing difficult conversations during a mediation.

We are excited to be continuing our new DR Roundtable, a monthly, user-friendly, hour-long Zoom discussion, occurring on the first Thursday of every month, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Topics for future sessions include:

  • May 1: Zoom Mediation Best Practices
  • June 5: Bias and its  Role in Neutrality
