The Only Probate Conference You'll Ever Need

Join fellow probate judges and practitioners for the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Sixth Annual Probate Law Conference -- the largest gathering of probate practitioners in the commonwealth. Whether your focus is estate planning, administration, probate litigation or guardianship/conservatorship matters, this unique conference provides something for everyone, from aspiring to veteran practitioners.

In addition to opening remarks by Probate and Family Court Chief Justice John D. Casey, this year's keynote speaker will be Raymond H. Young. Attorney Young has been active in probate and trust reform, including enactment of the Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code and the Massachusetts Uniform Trust Code.

The conference offers 20 courses over multiple programming tracks, providing timely updates about probate practices, procedures and forms, new regulations, and important court decisions. You’ll also hear practice tips from an extensive faculty of judges and leading probate and estate planning attorneys. Featured topics at this year's conference include:

  • MUPC late and limited proceedings
  • ABC’s of guardianship
  • Resolving will contests by motions to strike and motions for summary judgment
  • MassHealth updates
  • Guardianships involving alcohol, opioids and other substances

This MBA program qualifies for GAL’s Category D re-certification.  This MBA program has been approved for up to 4 CPCS Mental Health credits; 1 credit for each guardianship session attended.

NOTE: Registration opens at 8 a.m. Programming sessions begin promptly at 9 a.m. (No walk-ins will be accepted.) Please email education@massbar.org with any questions about the conference. Additional faculty will be announced.
