The Massachusetts Bar Association’s Judicial Administration Section is very pleased to announce the next event in its “View from the Bench” program series. View from the Bench programs provide valuable insights for new attorneys and seasoned litigators, allowing for an opportunity to pose questions to a judicial panel in a comfortable and confidential environment.

Hon. Scott Peterson will moderate a panel discussion with judges from the Superior Court, District Court and Boston Municipal Court concerning the Supreme Judicial Court’s Order Regarding Amount-In-Controversy Requirement (effective Jan. 1, 2020) that increases the procedural amount for civil actions in the BMC and District Courts from $25,000 to $50,000.

This is the first such change to the procedural amount since 1986, and the judicial panel will discuss implementation goals, strategies for making a smooth transition and responses to frequently asked questions about the SJC’s order.

Space is limited. We strongly recommended attendees register in advance. The panel discussion will be immediately followed by a networking reception.
