Prominent litigators who have conducted jury trials
since the courts resumed trials under COVID-19 protocols will share their
experiences and successful strategies.
Challenges to be discussed will include getting on the trial docket,
assembling a jury, conducting voir dire, ensuring witnesses' attendance and
being heard while wearing a face mask. Practitioners will highlight ways in
which they adapted their case presentations and offer their impressions of
whether jurors were more or less receptive than pre-COVID fact-finders.
Additionally, the seminar will present a judicial perspective on conducting a
jury trial during the pandemic and the challenge of hearing civil actions on a
docket teeming with criminal cases.
