Please join the directors of the three Massachusetts innocence organizations
for an interactive program about an exciting new MBA criminal justice initiative
to expand the capacity of their innocence organizations to remedy wrongful
convictions in Massachusetts.
The panel members, who are nationally recognized leaders in litigating
post-conviction innocence cases, will describe how MBA volunteers may assist
their innocence organizations in meeting the many challenges of their rewarding
work representing people who maintain they were wrongfully convicted for crimes
they did not commit. The program will include the showing of a compelling video
of exonerees speaking about their personal journeys to freedom from lengthy,
unjust incarcerations.
Panelists will answer questions about all aspects of volunteering for this
special MBA innocence initiative, which requires a limited time commitment, or a
more substantial time commitment, depending on the circumstances and volunteers’
availabilities.
They will explain how MBA members can volunteer in one of two ways:
- Assisting CPCS in evaluating applications for legal
assistance on post-conviction claims of wrongful conviction, or
- Assisting Massachusetts innocence organizations in advanced case reviews
or investigations of a post-conviction claim
This webinar was hosted using Zoom.
If interested in volunteering, please complete and submit the Volunteer
Application Form. CPCS will contact you about your application to
volunteer after it’s reviewed.
