SJC rules parent of a minor child has a right to counsel in guardianship proceedings

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, the Supreme Judicial Court agreed with the Massachusetts Bar Association and numerous other legal organizations when it ruled that the parent of a minor child has a right to counsel when someone other than the parent seeks to be appointed as the child's guardian.
