Featured CLE: Learn more about Paid Family and Medical Leave on Sept. 26

Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019

MassBarEducatesPaid Family and Medical Leave is coming to Massachusetts. Employers will begin making withdrawals from employees’ paychecks on Oct. 1, for contributions to the Family and Employment Security Trust Fund, and employees can start accessing the benefits under the law in January 2021.

As implementation of the law approaches, employers, employees and their attorneys have a number of questions about the law, and how it will be applied. This session, held on Thursday, Sept. 26, from noon to 2 p.m., at the MBA in Boston, will include an overview of the law and its key provisions, as well as insight from William Alpine, director of the Department of Family and Medical Leave, about the department’s programmatic development and a discussion of the key issues that the department is addressing.

Session attendees will have the opportunity to ask Director Alpine questions about the Paid Family and Medical Leave law and regulations.
