Citizens Bank rate increase could raise $900K

Issue June 2005

Citizens Bank recently announced an IOLTA account rate increase that is expected to generate $900,000 in additional revenue for civil legal assistance to low-income Massachusetts residents in the coming year. The bank’s action will help to fund programs that provide access to justice at a time when funds have been reduced.

“Citizens Bank is proud to play a role in ensuring access to justice for low-income members of our communities,” said Robert E. Smyth, president and CEO of Citizens Bank of Massachusetts. “Partnering with powerful organizations such as the Massachusetts IOLTA Committee helps us deliver on our important mission of finding innovative and effective ways to support those in our neighborhoods who need our help most.”
