Hundreds of Massachusetts lawyers, judges, clerks and other legal professionals today rallied at the Boston Law Day of Action at the Parkman Bandstand on Boston Common as part of the National Law Day of Action — a coordinated, non-partisan campaign to defend the rule of law, judicial independence, and the integrity of the legal profession.
Organized by the Massachusetts Bar Association, the event included remarks by MBA President Victoria M. Santoro, MBA Vice President Samuel A. Segal, Boston Bar Association President Matthew McTygue, Massachusetts Black Women Attorneys President Tara Dunn and Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association President-elect Theresa Wilson Coney. Recently retired Supreme Judicial Court Clerk Maura Doyle served as the final speaker and led audience members in a ceremonial reaffirmation of their attorneys' oaths of allegiance to the U.S. and Massachusetts constitutions.
The MBA thanks the organizers of the National Law Day of Action, plus our Boston event co-sponsors, including the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts, Boston Bar Association, GLAD Law, Hispanic National Bar Association Region 1, Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys, Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association, Massachusetts Black Women Attorneys, Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association and Women’s Bar Association.
