MBA President Victoria M. Santoro speaks at the Boston Law Day of Action.

Thank you to everyone who came out to rally with us on May 1 for the Boston Law Day of Action! As Massachusetts Bar Association President Victoria Santoro said: "The importance of Law Day, and this idea – that we are a nation of laws, of due process, with a right to counsel – is reflected in the hundreds of you that came out today to reaffirm your oaths. We are lawyers, we are the servants of the rule of law. We work in service of something greater than ourselves, and it has never felt more important to defend it."

We are grateful to our inspiring speakers, including MBA President Victoria Santoro, MBA Vice President Samuel Segal, Boston Bar Association President Matthew McTygue, Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association President-elect Theresa Wilson Coney, and Massachusetts Black Women Attorneys President Tara Dunn. Special thanks to recently retired Supreme Judicial Court Clerk Maura Doyle for helping us all reaffirm the oaths we took as attorneys!

We would also like to thank the organizers of the National Law Day of Action, plus our Boston event co-sponsors, including the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts, Boston Bar Association, GLAD Law, Hispanic National Bar Association Region 1, Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys, Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association, Massachusetts Black Women Attorneys, Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association and Women’s Bar Association.
