Higher pensions as a result of next
year's salary increase could contribute to a significant amount of
judicial retirements in 2014, the Springfield Republican
reported. In the story, Healy cited estimates he's heard that 45 to
70 judges could retire next year. In addition, Healy said he sensed
renewed optimism from judges as a result of the raise -- the first
for judges since 2006.
