The Massachusetts Bar Association invites you to participate as an attorney presenter in the MBA's 2020 Law Day Education Program.
Each May, in celebration of Law Day, the MBA coordinates a program that sends volunteer attorneys and judges to high school history and/or political science classes to engage students on a specific legal topic. This year’s theme, developed by the American Bar Association, is “Your Vote, Your Voice, Our Democracy: The 19th Amendment at 100.”
The women’s suffrage movement forever changed America, expanding representative democracy and inspiring other popular movements for constitutional change and reform. This year, the United States is commemorating the centennial of the transformative constitutional amendment, which guaranteed that the right of citizens to vote would not be denied or abridged by any state on account of sex.
The 2020 Law Day Education Program will be held from May 1 – 31. If you would like to volunteer, please complete this form by Friday, March 6. Please make sure to indicate your preferred choice of high school or geographic location. If you are matched, you will be put in contact with the high school teacher to discuss the presentation topic and to arrange a mutually convenient program date within the month of May.
