
Rules Advisory Committee selected for First Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals
Chief Judge Jeffrey R. Howard of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit announced this week that two new members were appointed to the court's Rules Advisory Committee: Shamis Beckley (at-large member) and Seth Aframe (D.N.H.). Beckley and Aframe will be replacing retiring members Vivianne Marrero (at-large member) and Martha Van Oot of New Hampshire.
Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2077, the new members were selected to the committee to make recommendations regarding the rules of practice and internal operating procedures for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the First Circuit Judicial Council. Howard thanked the retiring members for their commendable service and welcomed the new members.

U.S. Bankruptcy Court announces Pro Bono Honor Roll
On Monday, Oct. 5, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts held its Seventh Annual Pro Bono Awards Ceremony to acknowledge and thank those individual attorneys and law students who have demonstrated a commitment to pro bono legal work from Sept. 1, 2019, through Sept. 1, 2020.
