Career law clerk and chambers administrator at Supreme Judicial Court 

The Supreme Judicial Court (SJC) is seeking a career law clerk and chambers administrator to serve two SJC justices both as a law clerk and as the principal administrator for their chambers. The position performs research, analysis, drafting and editing of memoranda, opinions and other dispositions; manages workflow within the chambers; and assists the justices with completing a range of administrative tasks, including organization, scheduling and occasional correspondence.

Requirements include a J.D. degree, with a strong academic record, from an American Bar Association-accredited law school; bar membership; and a minimum of one year of prior experience in a judicial clerkship, with an appellate clerkship preferred.

Assistant general counsel at Tufts University 

The Office of University Counsel at Tufts University is seeking an assistant general counsel to represent the legal interests of the university by providing a range of legal services in the area of business and transactional law. The position supports the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) by providing legal services related to intellectual property matters and advises Technology Transfer staff of the OVPR, ensuring that Tufts’ legal interests are protected and liability is managed professionally. 

Qualifications include a J.D. degree, knowledge and skill as typically acquired through five-plus years of experience in relevant areas of law, and a license to practice law in Massachusetts or eligibility for admission to the Massachusetts bar.

Legal assessment attorney at ACLU

The ACLU of Massachusetts (ACLUM) is seeking a legal assessment attorney to manage receipt of and response to requests from members of the public for legal assistance or resources they may access outside of ACLUM.

This position manages a team of trained volunteers who accept initial inquiry phone calls and written information from the public. The legal assessment attorney reviews and screens the requests, gathers additional information as needed for an assessment, escalates requests for review by ACLUM attorneys, and determines appropriate responses for the balance.
