Legislative ImageThe House Ways and Means Committee released its proposed budget for FY22 yesterday, April 14. The $47.65 billion spending package includes an additional $6 million for the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (MLAC).

"We are grateful to Speaker Ronald Mariano, Chairman Aaron Michlewitz and the House Ways and Means Committee for fully funding MLAC’s $35 million budget request. The additional funding for civil legal aid is vital to provide much-needed resources to our most vulnerable citizens as we continue to grapple with the effects of the pandemic," said Martin W. Healy, Massachusetts Bar Association chief legal counsel and chief operating officer.
