Courthouse temporarily closed
As of Aug. 25, the Ireland Courthouse in Springfield is closing temporarily to address building issues. The Trial Court has contracted an environmental testing firm and is arranging for a licensed mold abatement company to work in the building today to assess and address the issues that have been identified. The Trial Court will determine the ability to reopen once those assessments have been completed.

USDC-MA launches new public website
The U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts has launched a new website for the public. The site was developed with input from members of the bar and provides quick access to most frequented resources for all visitors.
Some of the new features of the new site include:
- Enhanced searching capabilities through GSA’s Search.gov
- Increased accessibility via features like BrowseAloud, font size customization, and language translation
- Improved feed of announcements and events
- More details about the federal courthouses and history
- Expanded resource bank and civics connections for young people
- Responsive web design that adapts to a variety of devices and screen sizes (mobile, tablet, laptop, etc.)
- Modernized display with quick access options for the bar, press and public
Note: This is one of two major transitions in the district. On Sept. 20, 2021, USDC-MA will transition to CM/ECF NextGen.

Commercial litigation associate for DiOrio Law Office
DiOrio Law Office in Providence, Rhode Island, is searching for a commercial litigation associate to add to its in-house team.
The ideal candidate has more than two years’ experience in commercial litigation, knows how to conduct discovery and take depositions, and isn’t afraid to argue a motion. Candidates should also have a willingness to participate in drafting settlement and other contractual documents and writing legal memoranda. Candidates must have a Rhode Island bar license, and a Massachusetts bar license is also preferred.
