MBA Young Lawyers Division members
The Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the Massachusetts Bar Association is seeking candidates for its board of directors, and applications are due by Tuesday, June 1. The board of directors comprises four officers (chair, chair-elect, treasurer and secretary), 12 directors-at-large and a director from each of the 12 regions (Berkshire, Bristol, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk, Worcester and Barnstable/Dukes/Nantucket). The YLD is accepting applications for all positions, except the position of chair.
This is an excellent opportunity to become involved in the YLD and the MBA. The board meets monthly to discuss and organize volunteer projects, which have supported Bridge Over Troubled Waters, the Greater Boston Food Bank, Pine Street Inn, the Special Olympics and the annual Lawyers Have Heart 5K. Virtual networking opportunities over the past year have included a Salem Witch tour, painting night, mixology class, escape-the-room competition, pasta-making night and a jury-games event.
YLD leaders organize CLEs for new attorneys on topics including contract drafting, criminal law, taking depositions, trial strategy and associate advancement, while also coordinating with law schools to provide programming and scholarships for law students. You will have opportunities to participate in annual events such as the Young Lawyers Division Symposium and many other events put on by the YLD's various committees. The board looks forward to an eventual return to hosting in-person monthly meetings, social gatherings and sporting events. We invite you to apply to be a part of an active and vibrant group of young leaders in the Massachusetts legal community.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the YLD Board of Directors,
complete an application and submit it with your resume by Tuesday, June 1.
If you have any questions about the YLD or its board of directors, please feel free to contact YLD Chair Jason E. Armiger, Esq.
