Massachusetts Bar Association Young Lawyers Division member Shylah N. Luna, an associate at Barton Gilman LLP in Boston, has received the American Legal & Financial Network’s (ALFN) 2024 JPEG Picture the Future Award, which recognizes outstanding young professional executives and attorneys across the mortgage servicing industry. Candidates are nominated based on their long-term commitment to the creditors’ rights industry as well as their initiative and willingness to lead, educate, volunteer, and improve the industry as a whole.
Luna handles a wide array of civil litigation matters in state and federal courts across New England. A large area of her practice focuses on representing banks, financial institutions, investors and mortgage servicers in end-to-end default services, including bankruptcy and complex litigation. She is also dedicated to pro bono initiatives and handles pro bono work for Lynn United for Change, an organization that helps tenants with housing and legal issues, and the MBA Dial-A-Lawyer Program, which helps individuals obtain answers to their legal questions.

Stephanie Hood has joined Todd & Weld LLP in Boston as executive director and will lead the firm’s finance, human resources, information technology, general administrative, and business development services.
Hood has more than two decades of experience in similar roles at several professional services organizations, including law firms. In prior professional leadership roles, Hood directed strategic and enterprise planning and implementations, new policy and procedure improvements, and technology and operational implementation projects, with a focus on people development and skill optimization.
She is a graduate of George Washington University, where she earned a Master of Professional Studies in law firm management. Hood obtained an undergraduate degree in accounting from Babson College and currently holds her SHRM-SCP certification.
