The Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the Massachusetts Bar Association is currently seeking candidates for its 2025-26 Board of Directors. This is a great opportunity for members of the Massachusetts bar who have been licensed for 10 years or less in any state bar.
The YLD board consists of four officers (chair, chair-elect, treasurer and secretary), 12 directors-at-large, and a director representing each of the 12 regions in Massachusetts. We are accepting applications for all positions except the chair.
Being part of the YLD board is a chance to get involved in the MBA and make a difference in the legal community. The YLD board meets monthly to discuss events and initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion in the profession. To highlight some of the events and initiatives that the YLD has organized in collaboration with various affinity groups, last year, we celebrated cultural diversity and history through events like cooking classes, trivia nights and networking opportunities.
YLD leaders have also been proactive in organizing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) sessions for new attorneys on a range of topics, and in coordinating with law schools to provide programming and scholarships for law students. The YLD also offers opportunities to participate in annual events such as the YLD Symposium, writing opportunities, and other educational and networking events organized by our YLD subcommittees.
