The Massachusetts Bar Foundation (MBF) trustees are proud to announce that Chief Justice Ralph D. Gants will receive this year's Great Friend of Justice Award at its upcoming Annual Meeting. Gants will also deliver the event's keynote address.

At the Annual Meeting, MBF fellows, grantees and friends join together to learn about and celebrate all that the MBF has accomplished over the last year in its efforts to increase access to justice in the commonwealth. The event will begin with a business meeting and close with a cocktail reception. The MBF Society of Fellows will elect officers and trustees for 2017, and will also honor the newest MBF Life Fellows. In addition to the award presentation and keynote address, attorney Katherine Schulte, managing attorney of Casa Myrna's Legal Advocacy Program, will deliver the grantee address.

Founded in 1964, the MBF is the philanthropic partner of the Massachusetts Bar Association. Through its grant making and charitable activities, the MBF works to increase access to justice for all Massachusetts residents. In 2016, the MBF awarded grants totaling more than $2.6 million to legal service related programs across Massachusetts.
