USDC seeks comments on proposed
rule amendment

The U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts has issued for comment a proposed amendment to Local Rule 40.1. The proposed amendment adds subsection (h), and all subsequent subsections would be re-lettered accordingly.

Those wishing to comment on the proposed amendment to the Local Rules for the District of Massachusetts may do so in writing or by email. All comments must be received on or before Aug. 14 and should be sent to rules@mad.uscourts.gov or:

Northeast Conference for Young Lawyers, Sept. 21-23

New and young lawyers from New England, New York and New Jersey are invited to attend the Connecticut Bar Association's Northeast Regional Professional Development Conference for Young Lawyers from Sept. 21-23 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.

U.S. Bankruptcy Court notice on Vantage Travel Service

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts has posted information regarding the filing of claims against Vantage Travel Service Inc. after it recently filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The case (No. 23-11060) is currently pending before Hon. Janet E. Bostwick in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

The deadline for filing claims has not yet been set and will be established by a separate order.

Court Service Center staff attorneys

The Court Services and Law Libraries Department of the Massachusetts Trial Court's Office of Court Management is expanding at all Court Service Center locations throughout the commonwealth to achieve its mission of providing equal access to justice to the Massachusetts court system.

The department is seeking public service oriented staff attorneys and support specialists to provide legal information and forms assistance to self-represented court users and other members of the public. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
