Massachusetts Bar Association Treasurer Grace V.B. Garcia, a partner at Morrison Mahoney LLP in Boston, has been accepted for membership to the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC).
Founded in 1920, the IADC is an invitation-only association comprised of approximately 2,500 attorneys and insurance executives who represent corporate and insurance interests around the world. The IADC is one of the most prestigious legal organizations and has exacting standards for membership. Nominees are vetted by the IADC Membership Committee and the IADC Board of Directors before an invitation is extended, making it a high honor and testament to a candidate’s professional accomplishments.
With over 20 years of trial practice and litigation experience, Garcia concentrates her practice in the areas of product liability, construction law, OSHA, commercial litigation, employment litigation, premises liability and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) cases.
She is a continual lecturer for various legal education programs on the topics of OSHA, risk transfer and indemnity issues, defending traumatic brain injury cases, best discovery practices and deposition techniques. Garcia has authored several legal articles and provided expert commentaries for Lexis on issues such as indemnity, premises liability and collateral estoppel.
In addition to her involvement with the MBA, Garcia is past president of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association.
