Request for proposals from MBF IOLTA Grants Program

Issue January 2003

The Massachusetts Bar Foundation (MBF) is pleased to announce the availability of applications for the 2003/2004 IOLTA Grants Program. The MBF expects to award approximately $2.35 million to non-profit organizations for law-related programs that either provide civil legal services to the state's low-income population or improve the administration of justice in the commonwealth.

The MBF, founded in 1964 as the philanthropic agent of the Massachusetts Bar Association, is one of three charitable entities in Massachusetts that distributes funds through the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court's Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts (IOLTA) Program. The MBF represents the commitment of the lawyers of Massachusetts to improve the administration of justice, to promote understanding of the law, and to ensure equal access to the legal system for all residents of the commonwealth, particularly those most vulnerable.
