  • "Why this group wants every DA office in Mass. to have a 'conviction integrity unit,'" WBUR (April 6). The work of the MBA-led Conviction Integrity Working Group was highlighted in an article that quoted Richard W. Cole, who served on the working group as the MBA's co-chair. The topic was also covered in a WBUR radio segment that aired on April 6. 

  • "State parole board, clemency process need reform," The Boston Globe (April 5). The Boston Globe Editorial Board wrote in support of reforms proposed by the MBA's Clemency Task Force. The editorial included comments from MBA Chief Legal Counsel and Chief Operating Officer Martin W. Healy.

  • "Appeals Court: Lack of finality means zoning law doesn’t apply," Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (April 5). MBA member Kate Moran Carter commented on an Appeals Court decision regarding a zoning board's obligation to find "specific and material changes" in a proposal that it had previously rejected and then reconsidered pursuant to a demand order.

  • "Judge limits policy definition of car’s actual cash value," Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (April 5). MBA members Michael C. Najjar and Nicholas B. Carter discussed a Superior Court judge's decision finding that an auto insurance company is not required to include regulatory fees when determining the “actual cash value” of covered vehicles that sustain significant damage in accidents.

  • "Gig worker bound by ‘clickwrap’ arbitration agreement," Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (April 5). MBA members James W. Bucking and Travis J. Jacobs commented on a First U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision finding that a gig worker allegedly misclassified as an independent contractor by the online service provider that hired her to clean houses was bound by a “clickwrap” mandatory arbitration agreement.

  • "Judge orders broad discovery in Harvard suicide case," Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (April 5). MBA member David A. DeLuca was quoted in an article about a Superior Court judge's order regarding the scope of discovery in a case involving a former Harvard student's suicide.

  • "Local attorney collects, shares ‘Lawyer Stories’ from around the globe," Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (April 5). An article about a Holden attorney's new book noted that the author included stories shared by MBA members Eloa J. Celedon and Sunny Rozembersky.

  • MBA Past President Marsha V. Kazarosian, who currently chairs the MBA’s Civil Rights & Social Justice Section, was appointed on April 1 to the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission. News of her appointment was widely reported by local media outlets, including The Eagle-Tribune, WBUR, The Republican, WCVB-TV, The Patriot Ledger, The Berkshire Eagle, WWLP, The Sentinel & Enterprise and The Lowell Sun.
