MBA Chief Legal Counsel and Chief Operating Officer Martin W. Healy discussed efforts by Gov. Charlie Baker, Attorney General Maura Healey, and the 11 elected Massachusetts district attorneys to update the state's wiretapping law.

  • "Early exit could mean big payout for Boston Public Schools superintendent Brenda Cassellius," WCVB-TV (Feb. 14). MBA Past President Denise I. Murphy was interviewed about the potential compensation owed to outgoing Boston Public Schools Superintendent Brenda Cassellius, who is leaving the district in the middle of her contract.

MBA Lawyer Well-Being Committee member Heidi Alexander, who serves as director of the Supreme Judicial Court’s Standing Committee on Lawyer Well-Being, commented on the sudden passing of Lawyers for Civil Rights senior attorney Lauren Sampson.

Ward wrote an article about how attorneys drafting settlement agreements can learn from a lawsuit accusing Britain's Prince Andrew of sexual abuse. 

  • "Setting the bar for a trailblazing career," The Vineyard Gazette (Feb. 10). MBA Past President Wayne A. Budd, who in 1979 became the first person of color to lead a state bar association, was the subject of an article chronicling his groundbreaking career.
