Each week, eJournal highlights a wellness resource to bring attention to the helpful organizations, articles and websites that are available for members or anyone who may need assistance.

This January, whether you’re actively participating in the MBA’s Jump Into January Wellness Challenge or just interested in ideas to improve your wellness, you can benefit from the helpful weekly tips we're sharing with Wellness Challenge participants.

This week, make time for a walk. Participating in a conference call this week? Walk while you talk! Walking can be done outdoors or on a treadmill. Try to make sure you walk at a certain level of intensity. Time how long it takes to walk 100 steps at your normal pace, or to cover a certain distance around your neighborhood or a track. As the week goes on, focus on beating that number. Click here to learn about the benefits of walking.

Find additional wellness resources on the MBA's Health & Well-Being page, which was launched in April to support member wellness during COVID-19. It features helpful resources for coping with stress, anxiety, panic, substance use disorder and more during the pandemic, with links provided by the ABA Commission on Lawyers Assistance Program, as well as the MBA’s own Lawyer Well-Being Committee.
